Chemmozhi Tamizh Valarchi Kazhagam

The Kazhagam pursues the following objectives for the development and global promotion of Classical Tamil.

  1. 1. Promoting Classical Tamil

    To spread the pride, greatness, and historical importance of Classical Tamil among people across the world.
  2. 2. Encouraging Tamil Research

    To support research activities related to Tamil language development and to encourage scholars, researchers, and institutions involved in Tamil studies.
  3. 3. Conducting Tamil Events and Competitions

    To organise seminars, debates, discussions, workshops, conferences, oratorical competitions, poetry competitions, essay competitions, drama competitions, song competitions, and other Tamil-related programmes in schools, colleges, public places, and private institutions.
  4. 4. Honouring Tamil Students

    To recognise and honour students who secure top marks in Tamil in SSLC and Higher Secondary examinations. The Kazhagam also aims to encourage college students who study through Tamil medium and achieve academic excellence.
  5. 5. Recognising Tamil Scholars and Artists

    To identify and honour individuals who have contributed significantly to Iyal, Isai, and Nadagam — Tamil literature, music, and theatre. The organisation plans to recognise deserving achievers with awards such as Tamil Semmal Award and Lifetime Achievement Award.
  6. 6. Global Tamil Collaboration

    To work along with Tamil organisations functioning across the world and support their efforts for Tamil development. The Kazhagam seeks to participate in global Tamil events and become part of international Tamil networks.
  7. 7. Tamil Publications and Media

    To publish monthly or weekly magazines, journals, and other content that explain the history, greatness, and uniqueness of Tamil. The organisation also aims to create media platforms that showcase the talent of Tamil enthusiasts, writers, researchers, and cultural contributors.
  8. 8. Supporting Tamil Writers

    To publish quality works of Tamil writers and help take valuable Tamil literary creations to a wider audience. The Kazhagam also plans to recognise excellent books and honour authors every year.
  9. 9. Supporting Tamil Teachers and Researchers

    To provide support and encouragement to Tamil teachers, writers, and researchers for their growth and contribution to Tamil language development.
  10. 10. Government and Institutional Projects

    To receive grants and support from Central and State Governments and use them for Tamil research, Tamil development, and related cultural activities.
  11. 11. Remembering Tamil Leaders and Scholars

    To observe the birth anniversaries and memorial days of great Tamil leaders, writers, researchers, and Tamil activists who worked for the growth of Tamil.

    To celebrate important national days such as Republic Day and Independence Day with public participation and cultural relevance.
  13. 13. Ancient Tamil Heritage and Manuscripts

    To encourage archaeological research, preservation of palm-leaf manuscripts, Tamil archives, and innovative Tamil knowledge resources.

    To honour individuals who have dedicated their life to Tamil, achieved rare accomplishments, served society, or contributed to social reform.
  15. 15. Social Relief and Humanitarian Support

    To provide possible assistance during natural disasters such as cyclones, floods, tsunamis, epidemics, war-like situations, hunger, and public distress. The Kazhagam intends to extend support to affected people wherever possible.

    To help Tamil writers and contributors who have worked for Tamil but are living in financial difficulty.
